Mattress Decontamination
It is advised that a deep clean/decontamination is carried out between each patient. This minimises the risks of any cross infections. It can also be advised to carry out regular decontamination of the pressure mattress as during its use if any bodily fluids come in to contact with the mattress this can cause damage and possible failure of the top cover.
We can carry out full decontamination of all Makes and Models of Air Mattresses and Pumps.
Upon arrival to our workshop, our engineer will tag the mattress with the name of the customer so we do not lose track.
It is then left for approx. 24 hours before opening to reduce the possibility of any bacteria cross contamination.
It is then placed in our Decontamination room, on a bench and inflated.
Our engineers will inspect the covers and if in a serviceable state remove and placed in to the washing machine where they are washed with a bactericidal and virucidal detergent on a high temperature, but not to damage the covers.
Our engineers will then carry out a full clean of all the Mattress cells with a strong disinfectant and carry out a full inspection of each cell, and CPR Valve. At this stage any leaking or split cells will be replaced. The Pump will also be cleaned and inspected.
The covers are then placed in a tumble dryer to be dried to ensure there is no moister put back on the mattress.
Once all dried the mattress is reassembled at attached to the pump for an overnight test to ensure it is all in complete working order before being bagged, tagged and returned to our customers.
Our onsite facilities for Mattress Decontamination shown above, washing machines and tumble dryers are not shown, but used in the process.
